Thanks for visiting my webpage. I know it’s important to find a therapist with the experience and skills that will be the most helpful to you. The information I provide here is intended to help you determine whether I might be the right therapist to address your concerns. If additional information would be helpful to you, please feel free to email or give me a call: Katrina.Gould.LCSW@gmail.com or 503-702-0877.
It’s the therapist’s job to find the right balance between creating an emotional home for clients and challenging them to stretch toward the things they most want. Your strengths have gotten you this far, but some goals are more easily reached when you have access to the perspective and training of a therapist. It takes courage to recognize that doing the same thing over and over again has only yielded the same fruitless results; it takes courage to get the help needed to change. It’s always a privilege for me to work with people who choose to seek change through the process of therapy.

Every single person has the necessary raw material to make a satisfying life for themselves. We have the capacity to live our lives as our truest selves, and to have healthy, satisfying relationships. Together, clients and I assess what they want or need, figure out what’s getting in the way of their attaining that, and determine what steps will bring them the outcome they most desire. Sometimes this process is pretty straightforward; often, it takes some time. In my 25 years as a psychotherapist, I have worked with an array of people individually, in couples, and in groups.
